Huge congratulations to Chandrika Gopalakrishnan who won an award at the Kids Count Inspiration Awards 2016 at the House of Commons. Chandrika received a special commendation for ‘Inspire the House’ Most Inspirational Young Person. Chandrika impressed David Burrowes MP for Southgate at the meeting between members of ENDIG, the Deaf Project and Carers of Deaf People to discuss the Council Funding cuts to the Deaf Project. Chandrika is a young carer, her mother has Ushers Syndrome, which means she has a dual sensory loss of hearing and sight. David nominated Chandrika for this award and after the ceremony he gave a guided tour of the House of Commons to Chandrika and her family.
