The Enfield Legal Partnership Project (ELPP) has been set up to provide disabled people and carers with information and legal advice. From September we will provide information on welfare benefits, employment, community care and housing.  We will be hosting drop ins where disabled people, people with mental health issues and carers can be referred for legal support.

ELPP will also support advisors and voluntary organisations across Enfield to increase their capacity to provide legal information and advice for disabled people, people with mental health issues and carers who are based in Enfield. We can assist with:

•Submissions for tribunals.

•Training for advisors.

•Information sessions.

•One to one legal advice.

This project has been funded by the London Legal Support Trust for one year. Achieving our goals is dependent on the help and support of the legal community. We are particularly looking for assistance in the following areas:

•Support in creating an effective referral and monitoring system and case law library for use across the partnership.

•Pro bono advice and case work assistance.

•Pro bono support in putting together and delivering a training programme to develop advice workers legal skills.

•Pro bono legal work to identify and take test cases.

•Financial assistance and partnerships to provide any of the above.

If you or an organisation you work for can assist us in any way – big or small – to achieve our goals, please contact Lani Parker (Project Coordinator) at either or 0208 373 6330.
